Musicology Lab Classes

Panda Paw Piano

Panda Paw Piano (Ages 2–4)

Music Reading & Piano Foundations for Toddlers + Parents

In this one-of-a-kind parent-and-child class, toddlers learn to read, write, clap, and play real music notation — including quarter notes, rests, and even triplets — using our award-winning See It. Say It. Play It.® method.

With mini roll-up keyboards, rhythm sticks, and playful storytelling, students discover finger numbers, find C–G on the keyboard, and play simple right-hand melodies while building coordination, listening skills, and confidence. Caregivers participate throughout, learning how to guide early music literacy at home.

Your child will learn:

  • Read and write real rhythm symbols
  • Finger numbers + foundational keyboard geography
  • Early piano skills through joyful, hands-on play
  • Coordination, attention, and early reading readiness
  • Strengthened parent–child connection through shared music-making
  • Gentle preparation for future independent music classes when developmentally ready

Recommended Companion: I Can Read Music Home Kit (Ages 3–6)

Musicology Lab 1.0

Musicology Lab 1.0: Beginner Piano Lab (Ages 4–12)

Rhythm & Keyboard Foundations for All Beginners

This is where your child’s musical journey truly begins. Musicology Lab™ 1.0 teaches students to read, write, and play real music notation using our award-winning See It. Say It. Play It.® method — all in a joyful, small-group environment.

Students learn rhythm fluency, finger numbers, and the keyboard layout through hands-on keyboard time, interactive rhythm games, and music-math activities. As they progress, students play right-hand melodies such as Beethoven’s Ode to Joy and begin adding left-hand chords (C–G–F), developing strong two-hand coordination.

Students are grouped by age for optimal learning (Ages 4–6, 7–9, 9–12).

Students will learn:

  • Read and write real music notation
  • Play with both hands on mini and full keyboards
  • Finger numbers, rhythm syllables & chord patterns
  • Rotate between keyboard stations and acoustic piano
  • Build confidence through small-group learning & live play

Required for Advancement: All students must complete Lab 1.0 before entering Lab 2.0.
